Packaging Technologies

Changes in the food distribution chain and the fast growth of the packaged food market make packaging technolgy an essential part of the development of food products. Packaging has evolved from being a protective element to becoming a functional item which increases the shelf-life of the product and it is more adapted to the customers' needs.

CENTA is continuously working on the development of new packaging concepts. In our centre we have the facilities and the knowledge to optimize the preservation and commercial image of food products. Our researchers are constantly investigating new packaging technologies in order to overcome problems encoutered during commercial distribution. New packages that mantain the sensory and nutritional properties of food products, increase shelf-life, guarantee food safety, provide useful information to the customer and enhance the acquisition of the product are designed at CENTA.
